Just to fill you guys in, that title up there? I have been muttering it all morning. And it’s still early, so that’s not good!

This week is kicking my butt.

Jax has had a fever since Wednesday, and he’s been a crankypants toddler. Thank god for children’s ibuprofen, because at least 20 minutes after he takes it, he is a happy child again for a few hours until it wears off.

Wednesday night, I found out that my father–the one with whom I haven’t had much of a relationship since I was 15–died suddenly. It’s bringing up all kinds of crappy emotions I am just not in the mood to work through all over again. Blah. Funeral is Monday. Send happy thoughts my way!

There’s also the whole weaning thing! Gotta love the hormonal surges or whatever. I feel like I have PMS to the extreme, combined with the pleasant feeling of tenderness and, at times, downright pain.

So, yeah, fun times.

But tonight, my beautiful friend is picking me up for a girls’ night out, and then tomorrow is the Italian Market Festival. So maybe things are looking up.

For today, though, I’m counting on Yo Gabba Gabba, children’s ibuprofen, a walk in the sunshine, expensive delicious chocolate from a friend, and wine.
