Weekend Reading #BlogHop: Magazines & a New Book

20 Nov

I’m a magazine-loving freak. My favorites at this time are Whole Living, BUST, & Parenting. I think that says an awful lot about me–I am mindful of holistic well-being, I’m a bit of a feminist who adores the arts, and I love being a (semi-crunchy) mom. In addition to those 3 magazines, I also receive free subscriptions to several others through Recyclebank and other programs: Redbook, Parents, and Martha Stewart Living, to name a few. I know, that is an awful lot of magazines! I’m sure my husband would agree, as they’re pretty much scattered all around our house.

This weekend, I’ve made it a project to catch up on reading them so I can ditch them. I’m actually looking forward to catching up on my magazine reading. That means tearing out great recipes, learning a few new parenting tips & tricks, and fantasizing about the perfect holiday gifts to bestow upon my loved ones!

Also this weekend, I am going to really get started on the new book I bought the other day (and have failed to read more than 5 pages per sitting ever since): One Day, by David Nicholls.

What are you reading this weekend?

I have a few magazine subscriptions that I need to catch up on. I think I will take a few with me for my next appointment to either read or repurpose.

What do you mean by “repurpose?” I’d love to find things to do with my piles, other than/in addition to recycling them.

[...] Yesterday, I started jonesing on my lunchbreak for some magazines. Since I had to stop at the grocery store for some dinner ingredients, I peeked at their selection of magazines, hoping to find some related to health, fitness, and general well-being that I haven’t already read–given that I’m a magazine junkie.
