Never Thought I Would Write About THIS Again
16 Apr
Before you continue reading, I’d love to know what you think I’m about to discuss. Leave a comment! (Just having a little fun with you guys.)
So down to business… On Thursday, I bought 3 tickets to see The Wiggles in concert this summer. If you’ve been reading James & Jax a while, you probably remember this post about The Wiggles from way back. Well, I’m blogging about the dang Wiggles again now, and, let’s face it, I probably will blog about them a third time post-concert. Brace yourselves.
Even though my son’s favorite show is now Yo Gabba Gabba!, I couldn’t let The Wiggles concert pass us by. He spent a year of life being in love with them! But more to the point, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to embarrass my son for the rest of his life when he is inevitably asked “What was your first concert?”
Think about it: How many times in your life have you discussed your first concert? For the record, mine was Bruce Springsteen’s Born in the USA tour–an 8th birthday present from my mom. Wait a minute, that sounds suspiciously like a gift to herself and the inability to find a babysitter! Fess up, mom!
Ask my husband what his favorite concert was. I dare you.
Anyway, back to embarrassing my child. Well, and possibly myself too. I know lots of words to lots of Wiggles songs. And how can I not sing along at the concert? I’m gonna be one of those goofy parents whose faces show up in the concert footage they often play during the episodes on Sprout. Oof–god I hope not.
I’ll admit this to you because I like you: I’m a little bit excited to take my son to see The Wiggles in concert. Sssh…don’t tell anyone. I will totally deny it.

I’m the only person in the world excited about this. Maybe next time!
But if next time it’s a Yo Gabba Gabba concert, then no. No no no no no. If I want to watch dancing paramecium, I’ll zoom in on a rock.
No offense to the paramecium. :P
I’ll confess to you when I think of the phrase “The Wiggles” it reminds me of the dance I all too frequently do on my way to the rest room (getting old isn’t for sisses) what I can tell you is this, when you explore any interest your child has in a whole hearted manner, you are giving that child confidence & memories that will last a lifetime.
Thank you for yet another example of mothering well done!

Thank you so much for the compliment, geekbabe! It melts my heart to receive the highest of all compliments–that I’m mothering well! :)
Have fun! I can belt out “Fruit Salad” with the best of ‘em!
I prefer it in Spanish! Did you see that episode? The animated Wiggle sing it in Spanish? That is constantly in my head!
